The Roaring Twenties

Last week in Social Studies, we explored the Roaring Twenties.  We listened to jazz music and discussed some important inventions of the time.  Ask your child what they thought about listening to jazz music and this booming time in our country's history.

Point of View Scavenger Hunt

The class worked in groups of three to search through several picture books to determine what point of view it was written in.  Ask your child from what point of view a book they are currently reading is.  Also challenge your child to change part of their book into a different point of view and ask them how it would change the story.

Point of View Writing

Students were shown a winter picture on the Smartboard and asked to make inferences about what they saw.  After the students made their inferences they worked with a partner to write a story in first person, third person limited, or third person ominscient point of view.  We then shared the stories with the class.
